The Good Ship

Rodeo is a 1967 Mark I Alberg 37 cutter rigged hull #3.   She's equipped with a 3 cylinder yanmar diesel engine and a wapping 27HP which allows her to cruise at 2200rpm under motor power at 5kts in flat water condition.   Rodeo is considered very heavy for todays standards because back in the 60's and 70's hulls were hand laid with one piece of fibreglass laminate constructed to Gibbs $ Cox specifications, her hull is over one inch tick at the bilge.
The encapsulated full keel and the keel stepped mast make her a very good blue water boat which means she has very good sea kindness and is capable of crossing oceans.
There were 248 Alberg 37 built during a production run that extended for over 20 years from 1967 to 1988 proving how successful the design was.
The original specs are as follow:
  1. Sail Area, Sloop: 644 sq.ft
  2. LOA: 37'2"
  3. LWL:26'6"
  4. Beam:10'2"
  5. Draft:5'6"
  6. Displacement: 16800 lbs
  7. Ballast: 6500 lbs
